Beth Kuhr

Hello! My name is Beth Kuhr and I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Social Work in May of 2021. I completed my practicum at the YWCA OKC working with victims of domestic violence and conducting intakes and assessing their wants and needs. I will be continuing my education at the University of Oklahoma to receive my masters degree in the advanced standing program with the hopes of graduating with my MSW in May of 2022. I hope to find work in the medical social work field, specifically in pediatric or neonatal units. I feel very passionate about advocating for individuals and families that are struggling to manage care, the hospital system, and every day life.

My Video

In this video I share a little about my time at the YWCA OKC and some of the duties that I performed. These include intakes and assessments, recommending services based off of client wants and needs, shadowing walk ins where we provided services like safety planning and assisting with Victim Protective Orders. I also attended different kinds of court as an advocate for several clients, including VPO court, criminal court, and family court.

My Infographic

This infographic shows only a few of the national statistics on domestic violence. The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence shares national statistics as well as statistics that focus more closely on certain demographics and populations.
